چکیده
Abstract This paper presents the Global Sensitivity Analysis of coefficients standard k- ε turbulence model used in RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) simulations aimed to predict flow around a bi-dimensional hydrofoil operating at non-cavitating and cavitating regimes. The sensitivity analysis is treated by Sobol Decomposition, where Indices are computed through Polynomial Chaos Expansion 2-nd order with Point-Collocation Non-Intrusive approach. From current results, it seems that considered regime less sensitive variability input parameters, least for prediction lift drag.

Bayesian Uncertainty Quantification Applied to RANS Turbulence Models
A Bayesian uncertainty quantification approach is developed and applied to RANS turbulence models of fully-developed channel flow. The approach aims to capture uncertainty due to both uncertain parameters and model inadequacy. Parameter uncertainty is represented by treating the parameters of the turbulence model as random variables. To capture model uncertainty, four stochastic extensions of f...
متن کاملModel Validation and Uncertainty Quantification Applied to Cervical Spine Injury Assessment
Cervical spine injuries can occur as a result of large inertial forces such as those experienced by military aviators during ejection or evasive maneuvers. Mitigating the risk of injury during these types of extreme scenarios requires a fundamental understanding of the injury mechanisms associated with the transferral of loads through the human body and the ensuing kinematic response to these l...
متن کاملNumerical Prediction of Cavitating Flow around a Hydrofoil Using Pans and Improved Shear Stress Transport K-omega Model
The prediction accuracies of partially-averaged Navier-Stokes model and improved shear stress transport k-ω turbulence model for simulating the unsteady cavitating flow around the hydrofoil were discussed in this paper. Numerical results show that the two turbulence models can effectively reproduce the cavitation evolution process. The numerical prediction for the cycle time of cavitation incep...
متن کاملLinearized Theory of a Partially Cavitating Plano-Convex Hydrofoil Including the Effects
The linearized treatment of the flow over a partially cavitating single hydrofoil having a flat pressure surface and a circular-arc suction side is presented. The flow is treated as a two-dimensional, steady, inviscid flow. Further assumptions made are those of incompressibility and irrotationality. The results obtained are compared with experiment and generally good correlation is found for th...
